Exciting news was shared with the bochurim of Oholei Torah’s overnight Yeshivas Kayitz Program (YKP) during a special end of year farbrengen held in the newly completed Michalashvili Beis Medrash, marking the conclusion of its first full year as a vibrant center of Torah learning.
The farbrengen also celebrated the birthday of the Michalashvili Beis Medrash benefactor and dedicated supporter of Torah and chinuch, Reb Yossi Michalashvili. During the gathering, the bochurim were informed of a major new addition to the YKP campgrounds: the construction of a brand new mikvah, already approximately 75% complete and expected to open this summer for daily use.
The announcement was met with tremendous excitement and appreciation from the bochurim, who enthusiastically welcomed the news. The project was inspired by the bochurim themselves, who expressed a desire for a proper Mikvah Taharah on campus rather than relying on the pool for tevilah. In response to that request, plans were developed for a dedicated mikvah that will serve generations of bochurim for years to come.
The new mikvah, which is being built as a kosher mikvah for tevilah d’Oraisa, will be known as:
מקוה טהרה באר יצחק
The mikvah is being dedicated by Reb Yossi Michalashvili in memory of his grandfather, הרה”ח ר’ יצחק בן הרה”ח ר’ אברהם ע”ה מיכאשלווילי, whose legacy of devotion to Torah and Yiddishkeit continues to inspire future generations.
The evening featured a farbrengen by Rabbi Ephraim Mintz, who spoke passionately about the central role of limud haTorah in the life of a bochur and beyond.
As part of the special event, every bochur received the newly published volume of Toras Menachem, Chelek Peh Hei, together with a kuntres highlighting the importance of going to the mikvah.
The announcement of the new mikvah, together with the celebration of a year of growth and learning in the Michalashvili Beis Medrash, added a special sense of enthusiasm and anticipation as the bochurim prepare for another inspiring summer at YKP.
With construction progressing rapidly, YKP anticipates opening Mikvah Taharah Be’er Yitzchak for daily use by the bochurim early this summer.
